Using critical cloud-based connectivity, we can provide 24/7 remote monitoring and diagnostics.
With more than 13 years of experience in DC fast charging we have an unparalleled reach with sales of more than 1 million electric vehicle chargers across more than 85 markets, over 50,000 DC fast chargers and more than 1 million AC chargers.
To continue our leadership in this fast-moving space and create a platform for future growth, ABB is transitioning the E-mobility Division into a stand-alone business. With E-mobility as separate legal structure, we create a platform for accelerated growth and value creation in this business.

Management

Michael Halbherr
Michael Halbherr is the CEO of ABB E-mobility.
Michael has been appointed to drive the company’s continued growth, focusing on customer satisfaction and deepening its hardware and software capabilities to ensure technology leadership in the three customer-facing business areas. Michael started his career at Boston Consulting Group and has worked in a variety of leadership roles in the software and tech space including navigation pioneer gate5, Nokia and HERE Technologies. He is currently a founder, investor and Board member of several start-up technology companies, as well as a Board member of Vontobel Holding and Zurich Insurance Group of Switzerland.
Michael holds a master’s degree and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from ETH Zurich and a master’s degree in History from the University of Zurich.

Andreas Wenzel
Andreas Wenzel is the Chief Financial Officer of ABB E-mobility.
Prior to joining ABB E-mobility’s Executive Committee in May 2023, Andreas has served on the Board of Directors of the company as member of the Audit and Sustainability Committee. He has been with ABB since 2012 and has held various leadership roles, including Head of Strategy and M&A and Head of Business Development for Process Automation. Prior to ABB, Andreas spent 10 years with Bain & Company where he focused on supporting private equity-owned companies with M&A transactions and on strategic and operational value acceleration programs across industries.
Andreas holds a diploma in business administration from the Otto Beisheim School of Management (WHU) in Germany, an MBA from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas, and a PhD in Corporate Finance from the University of Witten/Herdecke in Germany.

Francesco Mennucci
Francesco Mennucci is the Chief Operations Officer of ABB E-mobility.
Francesco joined ABB in 1998 and worked in various leadership roles in the operations domain. He then held general management positions as Local Business Unit Manager for Smart Buildings in Italy, starting in 2012, and Hub Manager in 2016.
Prior to joining E-mobility, Francesco was the GE Industrial Solutions Integration Manager, leading the full integration effort to completion from 2019 through December 2020. Francesco holds a master’s degree in engineering from the Genova University, Italy.

Daniel Alarcon-Rubio
Daniel Alarcon-Rubio is the Chief Digital Officer of ABB E-mobility.
Daniel joined ABB E-mobility in June 2022, leading the digital and software research and development teams, and further supporting the company’s digital transformation and growth ambitions.
Daniel is a technologist, engineer, digital native and people leader with more than 25 years of experience. His expertise covers digital mapping, IoT, radio frequency engineering, robotics, mobile devices development, autonomous cars, and drones. He served as CTO of HERE, AirMap and Trafi. Prior to that, he has led large technology transformations at Nokia and Motorola. He has unique and very successful track record on both start-ups and large corporations.
